Muck Rack explored recent trends in the public relations industry.

A survey of 1,034 PR professionals was conducted from March 31 to April 25, 2023.

Key findings include:
— 36% of respondents said their workplace had “a little” diversity on their leadership teams.
—- 27% of respondents said their workplace had “a moderate” amount of diversity on leadership teams.
—- 18% of respondents said their workplace did not have any diversity on leadership teams.
— 66% of respondents said producing measurable reports helped increase the value of PR among key stakeholders.
— 28% of respondents said they currently use generative AI in their workflow.
—- 33% of respondents said they plan on exploring generative AI.
— 71% of respondents said that the relationship between PR and marketing will be more important in the next five years.
— 61% of respondents said the term “public relations” will need to be defined more broadly within the next five years.
