Carly is the Chief Operating Officer + Founder of Monday Talent. With extensive experience placing hundreds of mid to senior-level talent within the communications and marketing world, she is an expert in understanding the needs of her candidates and clients alike to build impactful, long-lasting relationships and teams.Having studied and worked in communications herself, Carly truly understands both the industry and her candidates on a high level. She sits on the Executive Board for the Public Relations Society of America’s New York Chapter as their VP of Membership and is a member of IPR Elevate.
When you started out in the industry, what steps did you take (or what things did you do) to be successful?
When I first started out in the industry, I made sure to raise my hand for absolutely everything. I saw this (and still do see this) as a way to challenge myself and grow. There is no job that is too big or too small, and there is always an opportunity to learn from an experience.
What piece of advice helped you throughout your career?
You should always network. Networking is absolutely critical, no matter what stage of your career that you are in. You never know who you can meet and what you can learn!
What advice do you have for building connections within the public relations industry?
I am likely going to sound like a broken record, but make sure that you are always networking. There are so many opportunities to meet other professionals in the industry, especially now that events are back in person. Going to industry events is a great way to not only meet new people in the industry but also learn about new subjects and trends. These can lead to amazing opportunities for growth.
