Wendi Strong retired as Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications of USAA, one of America’s leading financial services companies. The association has proudly served military families since 1922 and has become well known for its exceptional customer service, financial strength and exemplary work environment. USAA offers its 8 million members a full range of insurance, banking, investment products and financial advice designed to help them achieve financial security.  Headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, with 23,000 employees in offices throughout the United States and Europe, USAA owns or manages assets of more than $147 billion.

She leads the Association’s strategic communications programs to deliver business results. Strong and her team are focused on building and strengthening the association’s brand, reputation and relationships with a broad base of constituents including employees, members, the media, and the public.

Prior to joining USAA in 2000, Strong was with Associates First Capital Corporation, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, and Rosewood Hotels and Resorts. In addition to her 22 years of corporate experience, she spent six years as a public relations executive at Hill and Knowlton and Dallas-based Holt and Associates.

Strong holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in journalism, both from the University of North Texas. She serves on the board of trustees for the Arthur W. Page Society, the Institute for Public Relations, the Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas and the San Antonio River Foundation. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, and the Texas Public Relations Association.
