Kim Marks Malone is an award-winning accredited PR professional, a retired Navy Public Affairs Officer, and an Associate Professor of Practice. She is the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Journalism and Strategic Media and the faculty adviser for Meeman 901 Strategies, a student-run strategic communication firm, and the Memphis PRSSA Chapter. Kim has presented research at several conferences, including the IPRRC, the PRSA ICON, and AEJMC. Her research earned 2nd place in the AEJMC Public Relations Division Teaching Paper competition and has been published in the Journal of Public Relations Research. She is a co-author of the book Public Relations in the Military: The Scope, Dynamic, and Future of Military Communications. Outside the classroom, Kim works as an independent consultant, helping small businesses and nonprofits engage with their customers and tell their stories. Kim is a member of the PRSA College of Fellows.
