Gallup examined trends in employee retention and employee perceptions of the current job market.

A poll of over 128,000 people was conducted in more than 160 countries in 2023 and 2024.

Key findings include:

– 41% of respondents said they left their previous job due to issues regarding “engagement and culture,” and 28% said they left due to poor “wellbeing and work-life balance.”
– 56% of employees believe now is a good time to find a new job.
– This is an 8% point decrease from 2023.
– The top four reasons respondents said they would consider taking a new job include:
1.) “Greater work-life balance and better personal wellbeing” (62%)
2.) “Significantly increases my income or improves my benefits package” (58%)
3.) “Allows me to do what I do best” (58%)
4.) “Greater stability and job security” (56%)
