Mark is a trusted senior executive with more than 20 years’ experience in leading communications, public affairs, and community engagement strategies for purpose-driven organizations. He has a proven track record in brand building, thought leadership, corporate social responsibility and stakeholder engagement at the global level.
Mark was most recently SVP, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs for CommonSpirit Health, one of the nation’s largest healthcare systems, with $33 billion in revenues, 150,000 employees, 1,500+ care sites, and 21 states.
Previously, Mark served as vice president for Fleishman-Hillard, where he directed the public affairs practice for the San Francisco office of one of the world’s largest public relations agencies. He also served earlier as Director of Government and Community Relations for the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.
Mark is co-Executive Producer of The Antidote, a feature documentary that weaves together stories of kindness, decency, and the power of community in America. Directed by Academy Award-nominee, Kahane Cooperman, and six-time Emmy winner, John Hoffman, THE ANTIDOTE aims to drive a national conversation about the roles that kindness, decency, compassion and respect play in a civilized, democratic society.
Mr. Klein received his B.A. degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was three-time captain of the crew team. He received a national fellowship in public affairs for the Coro Center for Civic Leadership and was a fellow and faculty member of the California Health Leadership College. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and three daughters.
