GAINESVILLE, FL – The 2013 Grunig PRIME Research Fellowship seeks graduate students pursuing a paid working experience and a research grant during the summer of 2013. Applications for this award are now accepted on the Institute for Public Relations web site through February 25.

 The Grunig PRIME Research Fellowship encourages graduate students and those in doctoral level programs in the United States to consider a career in applied research in the public relations field. The winning applicant will work at PRIME Research’s location in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for six-weeks during the summer of 2013. A stipend of $5,000 will be awarded. Housing in a walk-to-work location is also provided.

 Winners will submit a research paper, aimed at public relations practitioners, for possible publication on the IPR web site. Along with an additional $2,500 stipend for the paper, the winner will be recognized with an all-expense paid trip to the IPR Annual Distinguished Lecture and Awards Dinner in New York City on November 21.

 The annual Fellowship is named for James E. Grunig and Larissa A. Grunig, professors emeriti at the University of Maryland. Together, the Grunigs have written or edited 10 books, more than 200 articles, book chapters, monographs, reviews, and conference papers on public relations theory and research.
