IPR is featuring research and some of the many AAPI pioneers who have had an impact on the world today in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month.

Momentive examined the attitudes and experiences of Asian Americans and Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islanders about their general experiences at work and in their communities.

An online survey of over 19,686 American adults (including 2,363 Asian or Asian Americans and 239 Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islanders) was conducted from Feb. 21–28, 2023.

Key findings include:

1.) 26% of Asian American workers strongly agree that there are others like them in leadership positions, compared with 41% of workers overall.

–26% said they would feel supported in pursuing leadership compared to 43% workers overall.

2.) 30% of Asian American workers said others have made assumptions about the type of work they do based on their race or ethnicity.

3.) 16% of Asian Americans participated in employee-led groups or employee resource groups based on their race or ethnicity, compared to 8% of workers overall.
