The Institute for Public Relations, dedicated to the science beneath the art of public relations, today announced its new trustees for the 2005-2007 term.

New to the Institute Board in 2005 are Amy Binder, CEO, RF/Binder Partners, Inc.; Leslie Dach, vice chairman, Edelman; Samuel F. Falcona, vice president-communications and public affairs, ConocoPhillips; Robert C. Feldman, president and CEO, GCI Group; Michael A. Fernandez, senior vice president and chief communications officer, ConAgra Foods; Frederick Wells Hill, executive vice president, JPMorgan Chase & Co.; Rich Jernstedt, executive vice president and senior partner, Fleishman-Hillard; Raymond C. Jordan, corporate vice president-public affairs and corporate communications, Johnson & Johnson; and Douglas G. Pinkham, president, Public Affairs Council.

Re-elected to another three-year term are: Thomas Buckmaster, vice president-corporate communications, Honeywell International, Inc.; Raymond L. Kotcher, senior partner and CEO, Ketchum; Sandra Macleod, chief executive, Echo Research; Thomas R. Martin, senior vice president-corporate relations, ITT Industries; Harlan Teller, chief client officer and president-worldwide corporate practice, Hill and Knowlton; and Louis C. Williams, Jr., chairman and CEO, L.C. Williams & Associates.

“We look for three things in a Trustee of the Institute: influence on the practice of public relations, strategic thinking, and the ability to provide resources the Institute needs to fulfill its mission,” said Frank Ovaitt, president and CEO of the organization. “The Institute marks its 50th anniversary next year, and today’s Board is one of the finest in the organization’s history.”

As previously announced, the trustees re-elected Peter D. Debreceny, vice president-corporate relations for Allstate Insurance Company, and W. Ward White, retired vice president-corporate relations for Northwestern Mutual, to serve as co-chairman of the Board. Serving again as treasurer is Margery Kraus, chief executive officer, APCO Worldwide.

John W. Felton, who retired from the Institute at the end of 2004, was named to the honorary position of president and CEO-emeritus.
