Katie Spring is Head of Corporate Communications at Citadel.  She is responsible for global external communications, brand management, executive communication and employee communications for the firm. Ms. Spring joined Citadel in 2007.  Previously she was Vice President of Communications at USAA, a top-rated financial services firm that serves more than 5 million members of the military and their families. Prior, she was a managing director in financial communications at the global public relations firm, Hill & Knowlton, and was a spokesperson for the Chicago Board of Trade. Ms. Spring was a Congressional Fellow and served in the office of Senator Richard Lugar in Washington, D.C., and worked for PBS as an associate producer for the Lehrer News Hour.

Ms. Spring was a 2009 recipient of the Highest Leaf Award, an honor bestowed by the Women’s Venture Fund to recognize outstanding female executives. Recognized by PRWeek magazine’s “40 Under 40,” she is a Trustee for The Institute for Public Relations and a member of PRSA Senior Leaders. She’s a member of Economic Club of Chicago and The Chicago Club.

Ms. Spring holds a bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. She and her husband live in Chicago with their three children.
