Matt Bianco is Vice President of Communications at Illumina, the global leader in DNA sequencing and related technologies, serving leading genomic research centers, academic institutions, government laboratories, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies.

At Illumina, Matt is responsible for implementing a proactive, strategic global communications strategy with the goal of increasing external and internal understanding, awareness, and overall reputation. Prior to his current role, Matt held various communications and public affairs leadership positions in the industrial manufacturing, healthcare, and government sectors, including Pfizer Inc., where he was Senior Director, Corporate Affairs. Matt began his career in Washington, DC as a Legislative Assistant to Vice President Al Gore before joining the White House Office of Legislative Affairs team for President Bill Clinton.

Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
