Liz Harish is the PR Director of U.S. Business Communications at MetLife. She leads thought leadership and manages external communications for U.S. Group Benefits, including overseeing MetLife’s annual Employee Benefit Trends Study (EBTS). Under her leadership, the PR campaign for the report has achieved a steady 50% increase in media coverage since 2022. Liz supports Group Benefits executives in driving business strategy and positioning MetLife as an industry leader, securing key speaking engagements and media opportunities. Additionally, she manages the public relations agency of record for U.S. Business, handling partnership negotiations, account structure, and overseeing the annual budget, resulting in a 10% year-over-year reduction in spending and increased scope efficiency across five core workstreams.

During her time at MetLife, Liz played a key role in the development of a comprehensive communications plan for the business divestiture and sale of MetLife Auto & Home to Farmers in 2021, providing change management materials and resources to over 3,000 impacted associates over a four-month transition period.

Before joining MetLife, Liz served as the Director of Corporate Communications at 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc., where she led communications for C-suite executives, amplifying brand presence to key stakeholders including national media, analysts, influencers, and investors. Liz executed successful public relations campaigns to support technology innovation launches and managed crisis communication following a warehouse and distribution center fire at Fannie May Fine Chocolates on Thanksgiving Day 2014.
Prior to her in-house roles, Liz worked at Kellen Communications as an Account Executive, managing PR strategies for association clients including New York Women in Communications, Inc. and the National Pasta Association’s inaugural “Pasta Fits” PR campaign. She also worked at RLM Public Relations, building brand awareness for a variety of clients. Liz began her career at JS2 Communications, supporting communications campaigns for clients including the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, the Shaw Theatre Festival, and Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York cast member Countess LuAnn de Lesseps.
Liz graduated from Adelphi University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Media Studies.
