The Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII) examined the state of the communication sector in Ireland.

A survey of 303 public relations and communication practitioners was conducted in July 2022.

Key findings include:
1.) The average annual salary for someone working in public relations is €74,000 in Ireland.
— The average annual salary for men in public relations is approximately €83,000, compared to an average of roughly €70,000 for women.
2.) While there are more women than men in senior public relations roles, a higher proportion of men working in the industry are found in senior roles.
3.) 14% of respondents work from home all the time, up from 4% in 2019.
— 63% of respondents are working 2 or 3 days from home per week.
4.) The need for career-long learning is well established with over two-thirds saying they would like to do more training.
