Gainesville, Fla. (March 9, 2020) – The Institute for Public Relations has made the very difficult decision to postpone the IPR Bridge Conference until November 5-6, 2020. The November conference will be held at the same location, Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies.

With the growing number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the region, and with several transmissions occurring at conferences and meetings, we want to err on the side of caution as the safety and security of our attendees are most important to us.  Additionally, we have attendees who are in a high-risk category or may have close family members in a high-risk category. Some of our attendees have also had to cancel due to their workplace restricting travel. While some have suggested we could hold a virtual conference, we don’t think this would be a quality experience, allowing us to have rich discussions and interactions that are the foundation of this conference.

Thank you again for your understanding and patience as we attend to the issues emerging from this unprecedented situation. If you were registered for the event, please check your email for updated information regarding the November conference.

We deeply apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of this decision. We are extremely grateful to each and every one of you all for your support of IPR and the IPR Bridge Conference. We hope you are able to join us in November.
