The Commission on Public Relations Measurement & Evaluation of the Institute for Public Relations has elected David B. Rockland as its chair for 2007. Rockland is a partner and global director of research at Ketchum. He has a doctorate in economics and has held positions in corporate, academic and research provider organizations.

“Public relations is at a critical juncture in proving its value through sound and progressive measurement techniques,” said Rockland. “The wealth of knowledge produced by this Commission is incredible, and I look forward to working with all members to continue developing, refining and implementing measurement techniques and standards for the public relations field.”

Rockland said he expects to see more emphasis on broad dissemination of the Commission’s work and greater international impact. The Commission’s papers are published free on the Institute’s website. The Commission also created the Jack Felton Golden Ruler Award for excellence in public relations measurement and evaluation, which is presented each fall at the Summit on Measurement.
