On Thursday, Jack O’Dwyer featured the Institute’s upcoming Annual Distinguished Lecture & Awards Dinner in the O’Dwyer’s Blog, highlighting Kate James’ recent decision to join Pearson, the education and publishing company, in 2014.

James, guest lecturer for the upcoming event, runs the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s global communications efforts to raise awareness and drive public engagement around global poverty, health and education. Her career has included leadership roles at Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank and GlaxoSmithKline, where she worked in areas of communications, international government relations, strategy, and sustainability.

“The Business of Changing the World,” is the lecture James will deliver.

Receiving the Institute’s Alexander Hamilton Medal for contributions to public relations practice and effective use of research will be Björn Edlund, Chairman, Europe, Middle East and Africa for Edelman.
