Pew Research Center analyzed how Americans of different ages use social media platforms.

A survey of 5,733 U.S. adults was conducted from May 19 – Sept. 15, 2023.

Key findings include:
1.) 83% of respondents overall said they have used YouTube, making it the most widely used social media platform in the study across all age groups, followed by Facebook (68%).
2.) Americans aged 30 to 49 used LinkedIn (40%) the most frequently, followed by 32% of respondents aged 18 to 29 and 31% of respondents aged 50 to 64.
3.) The least used social media platforms studied were X/Twitter (22%), Reddit (22%), and BeReal (3%).
4.) 33% of respondents overall said they used TikTok, up from 12% in 2021.
